Abstract
Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) are gaining recognition for their potential to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in modern construction. This review paper provides a comprehensive overview of eco-friendly materials used in SIPs, focusing on insulation materials, structural facings, and adhesives. The study begins with a thorough literature review and market assessment, highlighting recent trends and innovations. It categorizes eco-friendly insulation materials into bio foams, microorganism-based insulation, recycled material-based insulation, and fibre-based insulation, analysing their raw materials, production processes, structural and thermal properties, and environmental imp..
